Testimonies from the Prayer Room

For more than fifteen years, from September 19, 1999, to now, prayer and worship have continuously gone up from our prayer room—twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, year after year, by the grace of God.

We are called to minister first to the Lord in love and worship, and to pray for Kansas City and the world. Each twenty-four-hour period is divided into twelve, two-hour prayer sessions, each led by a full worship team.

Night-and-day worship and intercession is at the core of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), and is central to our programs, activities, and outreach, including a full-time Bible school.

IHOPU Student Equipped to Head Back to China

Eric had a high-paying job in China that he didn’t want to leave. But the more he listened to the prayer and worship from the International House of Prayer live webstream, the more his heart was touched by the presence of the Lord. When he heard that International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) taught students in Chinese, he felt he needed to come to America to study at IHOPU.

IHOPU’s mandate is to equip and send out believers who love Jesus and others wholeheartedly to preach the Word, heal the sick, serve the poor, plant churches and start houses of prayer, and proclaim the return of Jesus as King of the nations.

In an environment of 24/7 prayer with worship and a thriving missions base, we are establishing a community built on the centrality of  Scripture, prayer, and worship in an environment where the Word of God is expressed through teaching, singing, praying, and ministry to one another.

From Retirement to Internship

Interns discussing retirement plans and grandchildren may seem strange, but at the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), Simeon Company interns bring decades of experience to Kansas City.

The Simeon Company is one of four IHOPKC internships, and is designed for those fifty and older who desire to give their lives more fully to prayer, worship, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, outreach, and works of justice. Our desire for all our interns is that they would gain new insights into the Lord’s beauty and live fascinated with Him, as they learn more about their identity in Christ and the Church’s destiny to partner with His heart in establishing His purposes on earth.
